On this page I’ll include links to helpful Trich sites, and give as many helpful names, addresses, and more, as possible. Learning is the key to understanding Trichotillomania, and overcoming it. I’ve found the more I learn, the more interested I become, and the better I do with my pulling. So don’t be afraid...join groups like TLC, find others to talk to, or just plain fill your brain with info!

TLC (Trichotillomania Learning Center)
Joining the Trichotillomania Learning Center is the best thing you can do to learn the most about Trichotillomania. Attending and participating in the activities that go on through TLC are the most valuable sources of information you can get. Annual conferences, retreats, programs and more are the only specialized things devoted to Trich with real people, real specialists and real information. When you join TLC you receive a whole packet of info about Trich, along with a ton of other information to help you and your supporters. TLC is a non-profit organization lead by the infamous Christina Pearson and Jennifer Raikes.
The Annual Conferences:
Every spring TLC hosts a Trichotillomania informational and supportive conference for all people with Trich or related disorders. The conference is usually one full day and two 1/2 days, and takes place in a different location every year. Last March, the conference was in LA, California, and the year before it was in Florida. This is an extremely valuable and just opportunity for all pullers, the conference consists of sessions which you select to your interest, and there are sessions for all ages and many subjects. I’ve been to two, and they are a great opportunity to gather tips, information, and one of the most important things...making friends, and meeting other pullers! Learn more about the next conference at TLC’s site.
The Annual Retreats:
Also, TLC hosts an annual retreat, which is similar to the conferences. I’ve personally never been to one, but I’ve heard many great things! One of the little differences is that the conferences are a little more informational, while the retreat is more “supportive” or “fun” you could say. Kind of a “feel good” place to go and have a great time learning and socializing with other pullers and supporters! Learn more about the retreats at TLC’s site!
All Join Hands: National Trich Awareness Week:
This year the week of October 1st, the first “Trichotillomania Awareness Week” will be held through TLC! People with Trich from around the United States have signed up to do things such as putting up posters, hosting showings of “A Bad Hair Life” (a Trich movie) and much more, all to make the public more aware about this disorder! We are working together to make people more aware, and not pull! Learn how to be a part of this at TLC’s site!

Specialists
Though there aren’t too many specialists out there that know about Trich, there are some and if you live near enough to one of them, they may be worth a try! Rather than just copy the names and numbers from TLC, I’ll just give you a link to the page on their site where you can look through the specialists they’re aware of. Otherwise, when you join TLC they should send you a list of any specialists in your area. Here’s the link:
