About Me

This Site
Through school, I learned about a program called the WCATY (Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth) Young Scholar Program. It’s a program designed for kids in 7th or 8th grade throughout the entire state of Wisconsin, who would like to apply for a grant to go “in-depth” and study a specific field of research with a mentor (or adult specialist on the topic.)
Because I had been dealing with trich for quite some time, and wanted to learn more about it, I thought doing some sort of project with Trich would be a good idea. From there, I went through the application process. Each student must have a final project in mind, and mine was a website for others to benefit from. I was interested in web design, and created a couple other sites, so I knew a Trich site would be fun and a great experience for me, as well as beneficial to others.
After a month or so, I found out that my application had been accepted, and I started my work! My mentor was Dr. Douglas Woods, the Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He is also a very active member or the TLC Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Woods has studied Trich his entire career and now is the leader in the TIP and M-DOTS studies. I worked with Dr. Woods over a course of 5 months, while he helped me find information, and provided me with experiences to create my site. To learn more about Dr. Woods, CLICK HERE!
I hope that this site has what pullers are looking for, regarding support, information, and resources. I’ve enjoyed making this site so much, and I have gained so much knowledge throughout my project. If you have any suggestions, please contact me!

First, thank you so much for visiting my site! I’m glad you’re either an interested puller, or an supportive viewer. I am honored that I can provide you with information so that you can better understand this disorder.
My name is Sarah, and I started pulling in 4th grade. Over the course of my Trich, I’ve pulled from my eyebrows, eyelashes, and once or twice scalp. I’m currently a high school student in Appleton, WI.
All I can say is that no matter what, Trich does not have to run your life! Last year I was pull-free for over 6 months, and I hope to start a good stretch again soon. It’s really hard work to reduce, stop, and deal with Trich, but life is so much more than just this little problem. Everyone has their problems, and if you’re a puller, this is one of them. No matter what, always remember you are who you are, and that you are a wonderful person.
